Mr Jeremy Rowe
Dentist
Jeremy Rowe qualified (BDS) from Bristol University in 1988 and subsequently obtained his DPDS in 2007 (also from Bristol University). He started at the practice in 1992 and is currently our longest standing member of staff. During this time he has also been a committee member of the Local Dental Committee and of the regional branch of the British Dental Association. He is the most senior clinician at the practice.

Professor James Prichard
Special Interest in Endodontics

Visiting Professor and Course Director, Masters Programmes in Endodontology at the College of Medicine and Dentistry.
Professor Prichard is a renowned teacher in Endodontics, delivering hands on courses, lectures and seminars throughout the UK and overseas. He has held the posts of Associate Clinical Teacher, Clinical Teaching Fellow and Clinical Supervisor in Endodontics on the Masters Programme at The University of Warwick prior to joining BPP University in London as Visiting Professor and Programme leader for the MClinDent in Endodontology. He is currently Visiting Professor and Course Director of Endodontic Masters Programmes at the College of Medicine and Dentistry in Birmingham. He has supervised several Masters research projects and has published in several scientific journals including the International Endodontic Journal and The British Dental Journal. He has lectured at many international conferences including the British Dental Association annual meeting, the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry, the AEEDC in Dubai and the PAEC in Cairo. He is an International Key Opinion Leader for FKG Dentaire and has demonstrated the latest advances in endodontic technology for Schottlander and FKG Dentaire at the Dental Showcases and Dentistry Show in the UK since 2004. He gained his Masters Degree (MSc) in Restorative Dental Practice with distinction for his dissertation on ultrasonic cleaning of root canals which he completed at The Eastman Dental Institute in London. He is a Fellow of the International Academy of Dental Facial Aesthetics in New York, an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry.

Dr Barrie Huxtable
Dentist
BCHD, has been at the practice since 2002. He qualified from Leeds University in 1997. He then joined the Royal Navy as a Dental surgeon. He spent five years in The Royal Navy, including two years with The Royal Marines.

Dr Nicola Sampson
Dentist
Nicola Sampson (BDS London, BSc) qualified from Guy's, King's and St Thomas' School of Dentistry in 2003. She has practiced in the Torridge area since then, and has been at the practice since May 2017

Dr Deepa Shah
Dentist
Deepa qualified in 2005 from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ Dental Institute in London, and has over 15 years of experience working within general practice and specialist prosthodontic practice. She has completed various postgraduate courses and further training to stay at the forefront of clinical dentistry. Deepa has acquired a Masters’ in Conservative Dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute, London. She is a Member of The Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is a visiting lecturer for postgraduate students at the Eastman Dental Institute, London and Health Education England South West Foundation Scheme.
Deepa’s clinical interests lie within the fields of minimally invasive/adhesive dentistry, prosthodontics (crowns/bridges/dentures), implant dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. She particularly enjoys providing treatment solutions for complex cases including extensive tooth wear and broken down dentitions. Her philosophy: “preventive, aesthetic and functional dentistry, respecting what nature has provided”.
Deepa will provide a laidback, comfortable environment for you to look after your dental health. Patients will be provided with treatment solutions tailored to their individual needs. Deepa prides herself on providing high quality care, with up to date materials & methods, in a calm and stress-free environment.
Deepa moved to North Devon in 2018 following her love of the surf and seeking a relaxed outdoor lifestyle by the sea. Away from work you’ll find her in the waves, or our exploring this beautiful part of the world.

Dr Thomas Olivelle

Dr Thomas Olivelle BDS, PDip Implant Dentistry, FICOI
Specialist interest in Implantology/Oral & Periodontal Surgery
Having qualified from Guy’s Hospital in 1999, I spent my first years working part time as a clinical assistant in the Oral & Maxillofacial department at Chelmsford Hospital, whilst also working in general practice. This was an invaluable experience in gaining my surgical skills that I continue to utilise today.
I have been placing implants since 2002 and over the years I have attended several national and international courses building on my skills in advanced implant techniques, bone augmentation and soft tissue procedures. I also provide sedation for the most anxious patients to make their treatment more comfortable.
I gained my diploma in implant dentistry in 2015, from the University of Warwick and I am also a fellow of the international congress of oral implantology (FICOI). Member of SAAD (Society for the Advancement of Anaesthesia in Dentistry).
I strive to provide the very best patient care and satisfaction.

Miss Sharon Jones
Hygienist
Sharon qualified from Sheffield dental school in 1994. She moved to North Devon where she has practiced since that time.
She is an empathetic person who will always take the time to put patients at ease no matter how nervous or anxious someone may be.
She also has lots of experience with people on the autistic spectrum and has completed many courses on autism and related conditions.
Sharon has three children and when she’s not running around after them, she enjoys running for herself.

Vikki Oliver
Senior Dental Nurse
Vikki is one of our senior dental nurses within the Quay Dental Practice. She joined the practice in 2007, initially as a receptionist going on to study and become a qualified dental nurse in 2012. In her spare time, Vikki enjoys netball and running, having also completed the London Marathon in 2019! She especially enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Sophia Pearce
Lead Dental Nurse
Sophia is our lead dental nurse who began her dental nursing career in 1986. She joined the Quay Dental Practice in 2007 working with the foundation dentists and now works alongside our endodontic expert Professor James Prichard. In her spare time, Sophia enjoys running, baking and spending time with family.

Faye Bliman
Receptionist
Faye joined the practice in 2013 on reception. She has studied Level 3 Diploma in Dental Nursing to help aid her knowledge in her role. She cares about people and is always happy to help. In her spare time, Faye likes making and baking, music, photography, and especially enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
